protists
They’re not plants, animals or fungi, but they act enough like them
that scientists believe protists paved the way for the evolution of early
plants, animals, and fungi.
Members divided into three major types
The three main groups of protists are animal-like protists, plant-like
protists and fungi-like protists. All the protists are always Eukaryotes, and
they are always found in damp places.
location
Most protists live in water, damp soil, sand, moist leaf litter, and other damp
or wet locations.

importance
multicellular or unicellular
Protists fall into four general subgroups:
unicellular algae,
protozoa, slime molds, and water molds.

pro or eu
Protists are eukaryotic creatures meaning
their DNA is enclosed in a
nucleus inside the cell (unlike bacteria, which are
prokaryotic and have no

Some protists engage in photosynthesis (like plants), others eat food they find
(like animals), while others just absorb their food (like fungi).
